I am a nember on quite a few expat forums (English & Dutch) and there is nearly always a "going back to the UK" section, but it is not that many who are leaving when you look at the amount that originally emigrate.
Those that dont settle, tend to hang around the forums, and those that do settle well, tend to dissappear off the forums and get on with their lives.
If you are worried by other peoples experiences, then you need to think carefully about your own reasons for moving, and are you personally strong enough to accept all the problems/stress/missing family & friends that you will experience in the first 12 months.. If you think you are, then you should be fine.
We did it 13 months ago, and love it. Love the country, love the people, love the way of life. Its what you make of it yourself is my opinion.

You are totally correct in the points you have made. I only asked as we did plan on Perth, but hubbies job happened to be in Melbourne, i must admit I have done quite a lot of research on Melbourne, and have so far found it to be up our street, Im just worried that I had the lets go blinkers on. I intend to give it one hell of a go because in my opinion it is an expensive fase to go through, thanks for your reply, some good points made. xx
