I think people should remember that where you live in Australia is going to have a dramatic effect on your opinion of the country and personalities, back-grounds, family and friends all play such a significant part in forming your opinion about the country. I suppose I'm just trying to say that EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT AND FREE TO EXPRESS HOW THEY FEEL (in a polite and respectful way).

That’s about the size of it. I have had my head bitten off and been called names for daring to call for a little balance in discussions! NOT on this site I might add, but on another! I have lived in OZ, for 3 years in fact and although that was almost 4 years ago now, I think I have some things to add to various debates.

Australia is certainly not for everyone and I wish only good things to those who have given it a ‘fair go’ and then made the decision to go back to the UK. I have experienced some hostility when I have tried to point out to those heading ‘home’ after a few years down under, that perhaps they might be wearing rose coloured glasses too. I find the MBTUK threads/posts essential reading as we prepare to head back to Australia later this year. Fore warned is fore armed after all.
