Hello Peppapig,
Great advice there. Thanks a lot as you have lessoned a lot of my anxieties about finding work in Oz. Had visions of being isolated at home...watching really bad tv...busying myself trying to make the house spider proof etc etc...
I hope you don't mind but can I ask you some questions....
What is the difference between Level 2 and Level 3 social work there? In terms of social work experience, responsibilities at work and pay? A lot of jobs seem to advertise these different levels. We are preparing ourselves for a cut in wage when we move (I've reached the top of my scale and I can't go up unless I go into management...would rather not!! He's in management but is expecting to have to start again as a field worker) so it is interesting that you mention salary packaging schemes. What do they include? Am I hoping too much that they include a car hire scheme....laptops.....
We are also quite looking forward to finding out about the "Active social clubs" that organisations seem to tag onto the end of their job adverts! What are they???!!!
Best wishes to you in your new job!
Julie
