Hi, I live in Tarneit which is just the otherside of Hoppers Crossing. I have been living here for 2 years now. Theres a lot of new modern houses being built and more estates. The land costs from $140k depending on what estate and the house costs from $135k. Check Burbank, Divine homes, Henley, Metricon website and national builder. 2 years ago we bought our land for $121k (683 sqm) now for just 350 sqm would cost $135k. Critics reckon west is going to take over East Melbourne in terms of house prices once established. Were we live are more accessible to go to the city which is only 25mins away, tullamarine international airport is about 30 mins and avalon airport 30mins. Adelaide 7-8 hours by car on Western Highway.
Williamstown is a very nice place to go during weekend for a walk or a quick dip at the beach. Theres a lot of side street restaurant too. Altona is ok but mostly its full of sea weeds so I wont swim there but its a nice to have long walk or cycling. They are only 15 mins drive.
Yes we do get once in awhile burglary but it happens where ever you go. So make sure you have a security alarm at home. They are targeting new houses and estates as theres not much people living around. so to prevent it from happening make sure you either sign up for security monitor or just DIY. It happened to me 3 months after we moved in to our new home! Unfortunately so as my neighbors! But even established houses are also being victimized. So just beware. Aside from all of that, living here are nice and quiet. everything you need are all here and you dont need to go to the city.
