Hi Michelle
ive been in the U.K for the past 4 years Blackburn at the moment, but have plans to move back soon. in the time i lived in the western suburbs (most of my life) the only crime we had against us was, i got my new bike stolen from the deer park shopping centre. my mum took me to the police station the police officer seen i was so upset and got one of the recoverd ones out the back and gave it to me! i was made up. Great story but i gather you want more facts? ive done a quick search on google.com.au on (crime figures for werribee) and it talks about werribee train station being one of the worst for crime! but as you read on it tells you that 90% of the crimes reported oct 07 to this month 16 of those happend in the car park (cars stolen) last reported assult was in july and last robbery/assult in jan07. if you do the google search there is alot more info. as my personal views i feel that kids are kids in Australia in England i feel they want to grow up to quick, i was shocked when first coming to England seeing young girls with prams 6/7 yr olds smoking etc i never seen that that in oz (maybe i walked around with my eyes closed?) but i never felt un safe. you may have people trying to talk you out of the western suburbs it is not as bad as people make out, the house prices are alot cheaper and yes you may get a lower class of people (working class) but they are happy to chat, and its only 30 minutes in to the cbd. the only bad point is if you travel into the city the suns in your face on the way to work and on the way home. if your still in the uk we can meet up or i can give you my number and you can pick my brains? i hope ive helped
take care and good luck
Geoffrey
