hi i lived in the western suberbs most of my life. werribee would be the cheepest place to live as its the oldest well compaired to hoppers crossing point cook etc, you can still buy new homes though! werribee has a train line into the melbourne and i would say its about 30 minutes away by train or car, you have a freeway (motorway) going past. it has a resonable sized shopping centre with all major shops close by. you have a good family beach in altona (about 15 minutes away) werribee also has beaches but are not the best? werribee also has alot of farming close by (lettuce mainly) other than the werribee zoo (open range zoo) werribee does not have anything else (plenty of play places for kids though) but nor does any suburb of melbourne. you need to go to queensland for that! the schools are fine with a mixture of private and public schools. the only problem is if you have young ones you need to hunt around for nursuries as there are not enough places! if you are going to use public transport you only need to buy 1 ticket to use buses trains or trams i hpe this helps you out if you need any other help just gve me bell take care geoffrey
