First thing you need to find out is if yours or Oh skills are in demand for Oz - what do you both do? Only that way can you then look into the possibility of emigrating really.

Department of Immigration and Citizenship for the list of occupations in demand; if you can determine your skills are needed in Oz, then (providing you have enough points to qualify) you must have your skills assessed by the relevant authority before you are able to submit a visa application.
