Find an area you like inbetween the city and the coast,there are loads to choose from.I was pleasantly surprised that i never really need to go into the city as its traffic chaos,but if i really have to its under an hours drive.Same with the beach if i want to go to surfers its about 45mins. Most folk happily commute 30 mins to and from work some longer as everything is so spread out.Id find an area i like and then look for work rather than vice versa.hope this helps a bit ,have you looked at
