Hi Gill,

you are right as always we have had discussions with DIAC and he will leave the country and then we will lodge his visa and then he will go back on his tourist visa - I think!

It got a bit complicated because he has already had 2 ETA's and used them to the max, so again after advice we were told the best option (at the time we did not have our visas) was the year tourist, however as you say you cannot apply for another visa while in the country.

To be honest I have stepped back and let my sister get on with it, she thinks she knows what she is doing.

It is a shame that we could not put his application in once we had validated, we have to be living there.

His visa runs out in October so he is starting to get worried that it will all be a bit tight.
