another newbie
hi there, i am new to this site. I moved to Australia two years ago with my then 18 year old daughter. My hubby had to stay in Uk to sell our house.
This took longer than we had hoped. He eventually got here in November 07.
His father had been unwell before he left and was diagnosed with stomach cancer.
But there seemed to be hope, he had his chemo and was told they could now operate.
He told my hubby that he was to come to Aus and be with his family.
My husband reluctantly came, but after 3 weeks of being here, his father was told they had 'made a mistake' and there was nothing they could do for him.
We all went back in Feb 08 and his father passed away.
My hubby is still there supporting his mum for a while.
Despite all of the hurdles we have come across, i still feel that moving here was the best thing we could have done.My daughter has moved to Sydney with her boyfriend and is loving it.
I wake up every morning and smile at the lovely blue skies.
In my experience the people are very friendly and helpful.
The icing on the cake will be when my hubby gets back and we can eventually start our new life together....
