Thanks for your reply, very interesting. We currently live in a large town outside of Bristol, so we are used to hustle and bustle, no big deal there.

We are definitely going to rent first, but want to try and rent in the right area- as finding we have rented in the wrong place means ripping our 11 year old out of school yet again and resettling him in another suburb of Sydney.

Let me know how you get on with your suburb searching!
