IELTS - an easy way to lose 100 quid but also a fairly easy way to get those extra points if you need them.

It's not overly difficult on a technical level, but for me it seemed a long day. The listening, reading and written tests were conducted over a three hour period in the morning (without a break) and then had to wait about three hours 'til about 4 in the afternoon for the speaking test, which lasted about 15 minutes and was a doddle.

I agree, it is a bit insulting but if you want the points, then swallow your pride, cough up the dosh and sit the test.
