And what time does it get dark in the UK?

Well it could by 3:00pm or 10:30pm it depends where you are and what time of the year.

Here in Perth, the variation in length of the day is not as big as it is in the UK. The shortest day (21st June) is about 10 hours between sunrise and sunset and the longest day (21st Dec) is 14 hours between sunrise and sunset.

On 21st Mar and 21st Sept So the day is 12 hours between sunrise and sunset (as it is around the whole world). Here in Perth on those days the sun rises and sets at approx 6:15.

On the shortest day the sun rises about 1 hour later and sets about 1 hour earlier than that ( 7:20am rise to 5:20pm set).

On the longest day the sun rises about 1 hour earlier and sets about 1 hour later ( 5:15am rise and 7:15pm set). If daylight saving is in effect, then sunrise is 6:15am and sunset 8:15pm
