Well this weekend saw the first sunshine in Sydney for over 2 weeks. It's been raining and overcast every day for the last 16 or 17 days before that. That was the worst period of prelonged rain for about 30 years though apparantly. Folk were getting really upset the whole thing, but I barely noticed. It was just like being at home only warmer and it didn't last for 6 solid months of the year.
Sydney has an average annual rainfall of 1200mm and London has an average annual rainfall of 650mm, it's just that double the amount in Sydney tends to fall in a much shorter period.
Plans have been ruined a couple of times due to the wet, but the pay off is that even when it's lashing down it's still 25 degrees outside, so you just go sit under the awning of a local restaurant and have some food instead.
