Hi
We have been here 7 weeks now and are loving it. We also had a holiday let for a few weeks on arrival, which I would recommend as it gives you some time to have a look around the areas that you may want to settle in whilst maintaining a degree of comfort. We now have a rental (we applied for two and got offered both!) and the children are enrolled at school. Oh has started his new job this week and we've bought most of the furniture we need. We love the fact that we are just 5 minutes drive from the beach (we were originally from Leicestershire and about as landlocked as you could get) We love the 'no worries' attitude of the Aussies, the climate is great (bar the tropical rain-storms of late) The food prices, I've found to be on par with the UK really. The fruit and veg choices are a lot more varied. Clothing is okay maybe a bit dearer although KMart and Best for Less are pretty good value. We've found the furniture to be really good value, and we've bought some lovely pieces for a lot cheaper than you would pay in the UK. Cars are more expensive though.
Mandy x
