Well, we done the stopover thing at Singapore for 3 nights with Singapore airlines and still had our extra baggage entitlement too.
We're really glad we did, Singapore was fantastic and so much there to see and do.
I'd recommend it, as we had only done short flights before and thought we had might aswell make a big thing of the journey out here to our new life.
The hotels are top class, the place is so clean and safe, the shopping is out of this world, the zoo is great and you can also do a nighttime safari trip there and Sentosa Island is definately worth a visit, as there are lots of attractions there too (beaches, butterfly farm, Aquarium and Dolphin lagoon to name a few.
But as previous said, its up to you, some people like to get it over and done with in one go.... good luck & have fun deciding
