Liz and Paul is on a distinguished road
Hi,

We were planning to settle in South Gold Coast so my OH came out in August to have a look around some primary schools in the area. He went to Mudgeeraba state school, which he really liked but facilities a little old, Burleigh Heads state school, really nice and Clover Hill school, which is only 2 years old, great facilities, this is inbetween Mudgeeraba and Robina. We looked on their websites which we got links to from the Queensland education website. My OH liked all three schools, there aren't too many independent schools about unless you are looking for a Catholic or Christian school.

All are really easy to enrol - all of above three don't have limits to number of students they take, the government provide extra teachers if there's a large intake and at our sons school there is a max of 25 to a class. There is 5 classes in his year though, so its quite a big school, there are a lot of families around here, but he is getting on great at school (Year 1) although education wise they're about a year behind over here, so he's well ahead.

Robina High School and Miami High are the two main high schools this end of the Gold Coast - haven't looked at them though no need yet, but our son will go to Robina - it looks great from outside - very modern and its more local to us.

Some of the schools have catchment areas some of them don't.

If you have any other questions please ask.

Liz
