My friend was also very tearful and in the last few weeks cried everytime she saw me, she kept prolonging the goodbyes and even came round late the night before we departed and cried again. It was very touching and she was like this because she loved us, she wanted to see the children grow up (both are children were similar ages and at the same school), and she was sad for herself but happy for us ... it showed us how much our friendship means to here - and friendships like that aren't easily broken despite the miles.
