I'd make the contact with fifer's people first if I were you and then there is always the possibility that they may sponsor your wife (and family of course!) to move. Ages ago I was sent some info on midwivery in Brisbane but not Perth unfortunately.
All failing we all have different opinions on agent or no agent, and depends if you need to safe as many pennies for the move as you can I suppose. Personally we have used an agent as we are a bit of a nightmare with paperwork and need someone to kick us up the backside to get it done, so for us an agent is a good thing!! Keeps phoning me, have you got ???? yet??? Fab for me! Agents do give some free advice so worth contacting some and asking their invaluable advice.
